Nous regrettons de vous annoncer le décès de Stéphane Tourigny le vendredi 22 février 2019 à l'Hôpital Montfort à Ottawa à l'âge de 47 ans. Stéphane était propriétaire et gestionnaire de Stéphane Tourigny Productions, une entreprise de publicité et de marketing, en plus d’être un consultant sur la Sensibilisation et la Planification en matière d’accessibilité. Il était très actif dans la vie communautaire à Ottawa et engagé en de nombreux projets communautaires, faisait partie de comités consultatifs sur de nouveaux règlements par rapport à l’accessibilité, et faisait partie du programme PARTY (Prevent Alcohol and Risk-related Trauma in Youth). Stéphane offrait souvent des allocutions, présentations et consultations comme conférencier motivateur à des écoles, hôpitaux et milieux de travail, portant sur les invalidités liées aux traumatismes de la moelle épinière. Il était très fier de son indépendance et en était un ardent défenseur, afin que toute personne vivant avec un handicap puisse maintenir sa propre indépendance.

Il laisse pour pleurer sa perte sa mère, Antoinette Tourigny de Kapuskasing; une soeur, Sylvie Boudreault (Gilles) de Kapuskasing; sa filleule: Juleah Baay; et un filleul: Josiah Galeno; ainsi que plusieurs, oncles, tantes, cousins et cousines. Il laisse aussi dans le deuil ses amis proches: Edith Laurente, Mary Joy Uba, Catherine Marasigan, Asfrah Syed-Émond et Hector Émond. Il fut prédécédé par son père, André Tourigny.

La Célébration Eucharistique aura lieu le samedi 9 mars, à 15h00 en l'église Notre-Dame-des-Victoires avec Père Rémi Lessard comme célébrant. Une célébration de sa vie aura lieu à Ottawa le samedi 23 mars à sa maison dont les détails suivront. Au lieu de fleurs, la famille sera reconnaissante des dons à La Marche des dix sous de l’Ontario, Lésions médullaires Ontario ou La Fondation des Lions du Canada Chiens-Guides. ©



We regret to announce the death of Stéphane Tourigny on February 22, 2019 at the Montfort Hospital in Ottawa at the age of 47 years. Stéphane owned and operated Stéphane Tourigny Productions, an advertising and marketing business, and was also an Accessibility Awareness and Planning Consultant. He was very active in his community of Ottawa and was involved in numerous community projects, sat on committees for new by-laws regarding accessibility, and was part of the PARTY program (Prevent Alcohol and Risk-related Trauma in Youth). Stéphane often did motivational speeches, presentations and consultations in schools, hospitals, and workplaces on spinal cord injuries and disabilities. He was fiercely proud of his independence and was a very vocal advocate so that everyone with a disability could maintain their own independence.

He leaves to mourn his mother, Antoinette Tourigny of Kapuskasing; one sister, Sylvie Boudreault (Gilles) of Kapuskasing; his godchildren: Juleah Baay and Josiah Galeno; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He will also be greatly missed by his close friends: Edith Laurente, Mary Joy Uba, Catherine Marasigan, Asfrah Syed-Émond and Hector Émond. He was predeceased by his father, André Tourigny.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 9th at 3:00 p.m. at the Notre-Dame-des-Victoires church with Father Rémi Lessard officiating. A celebration of life will also be held in Ottawa on Saturday, March 23 at his home, details to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ontario March of Dimes, Spinal Cord Injury Ontario or the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides would be greatly appreciated. ©
